He died young; Jacob^7 Van Wicklen, b. abt 1837, LI, NY. He married Ann Eliza Van Nostrand; Mary^7 Eliza Van Wicklen, b. abt 1841, LI, NY. She married George W. West, Roslyn, NY and had a daughter, Ella (b. Aug 1867, NY) who married Charles Pearsall (b. Oct 1863, NY) abt 1890; Garret^7 Van Wicklen, b. 4 August 1846, LI, NY. He died 24 March 1865 and is bur. Brookville Cem; Phebe^7 Ann Van Wicklen, b. abt 1847, LI, NY. She married Henry C. Hutchings (1844-1916) and they had a son, Samuel, b. abt. 1867. Phebe was living with her son, Samuel, in the household of her mother and father at the time of the 1870 US Census for N. Hempstead, Queens, NY. She d. 1912. She is buried in Brookville Cem. in her father's plot; Elbert^7 Van Wicklen, b. abt 1849, LI, NY. He married Jane ____ who died 11 March 1883 at age 32. American Civil War Soldiers (located on Ancestry.com) Elbert Van Wycklen enlisted 25 Feb 1865 at "age 19" in Co. D 133rd Inf. reg. NY (Distinguished Service) and transferred to Co. C, 90th Reg., NY on 31 May 1865 and mustered out Co. C., 90th Inf. Reg. (NY) on 9 Feb 1866 in Savannah, GA. On 4 April 1891, Elbert Van Wycklen filed for pension benefits, Co. D 133rd Inf. Reg. NY, application # 1008821 and cert. # 1152.779 NY

1870 US Census for N. Hempstead, NY lists Garrett Van Wicklen, 60, farm laborer, NY with wife, Phoebe, 58, keeping house, George, 8, Phoebe A. Hutchins, 23, dressmaker and her son, Samuel Hutchins, 3 [Phoebe is married dau. of Garret and Phoebe] and Ann Van Wicklen, 16, domestic.

Brooklyn Eagle (6 May 1883, page 1) Brief News Notes - Charles Melius of Roslyn, was fined $10 for assaulting Elbert Van Wicklen. The same day, Mrs. Melius was looking for Van Wicklen with a pistol to shoot him.

Brooklyn Eagle (17 June 1888) - Daughter of Elbert Van Wicklen of Roslyn had a piece of flesh bitten from her leg by a vicious dog.
